Review 8

HarryとAlisaのChit-Chat timeから

H:Ah seeing all that soba and sobadango...

A:Yeah.

H:makes me so hungry.

A:It looked so good.

H:So Alisa, have you ever had an experience like in a restaurant, which was a bit embarrassing?

A:At the time I didn’t live in Japan, I was visiting from America to Japan.  The slurping...

H:Ahhh.

A:Yeah, very normal here but not in the States.

H:So true.

A:So I did that in the States.  I brought that tradition from Japan to the States. And people looked at me like I was crazy.

H:Ahahaha. But you were eating soba, right? In the States?

A:Yeah.

H:No pasta ya? No spaghetti.

A:No pasta, no spaghetti.

H:Ok.

A:How about you?

H:I’ve had a number of  experiences in the restaurant where I was  wearing the wrong clothes,  I didn’t quite understand the meaning of Black Tie .  Black TIe means, you know,  very smart.  Definitely a Jacket. You’ve got to be very smart.

A:Ahhh.

H:I have no idea and I looked up to a family dinner in a very very good restaurant in my t-shirt and my jeans and my sandals!

A:Sandals!

H:Very embarrassing.

A:I would feel very embarrass....

Today, I have some words not to be understood. In front of the rice cracker in the souvenir shops arcade, the conversation was done between Harry and Alisa.

A:Hmmm, this rice cracker looks good.

H:Hey, that’s the last one.

A:And?

H:I I... It’s mine.

A:No.

H:Hey.  Come on.

A:It’s mine.

E:Would you like another one? [Harry picked up a pair of rice crackers]

H:Really? Ahhh, Ah thank you. Ahh hahaha .  Mmm, Like a sandwich would we go!

I couldn’t listen to the place, the boldface at all.

I see, The sauce takes to the noodles because of the egg.

Today’s work outより

H:I think I know how to do this. You know yeah?

A:Yeah.

H:Let’s give it a go, then.[Harry missed]  Pathetic.

A:Oh, yeah.[Alisa succeeded]

Thank you for dropping on.

The sauce sticks to the noodles because of the egg.

I’m a Japanese.

English is difficult, isn’t it?  Phrases I wonder why you use come out one after another.

From the conversation of the two female and male visitors to Japan.

F:See, you Ricky.  I told you it was popular!
M:I guess you’re right!

Is this the typical conversation particularly in the first place?[the boldface]

次はToday’s work out から

Next! The conversation with Harry and Alisa!

H:Oh. Wow! Oh, Hi!

A:Thanks for inviting us today.

H:I see you’ve got lots of friends here.

E:Have a seat.

A:Thanks.

H:Thank you. Cheers. Ah, here are some drinks. Lovely. I was actually getting rather thirsty.

E:Have a drink.

H:Ah, thank you. Excellent! Let’s have a beer in this.

A:Harry,  could you get us something to eat first?

H:Can I have a sip first?

Can we need ‘ a ‘ before ‘beer’ ?

THank you very much for visiting!

H:So Alisa,

A:Yeah.

H:This week,

A:Hhm.

H:there was a bit of confusion with the use of Japanese words.

A:Hmm

H:Right? When you are trying to say,”ha-do-ru-ga-ta-ka-i”

A:Ahhhh...

H:Challanging. Instead you said,”ha-n-do-ru-ga-ta-ka-i.”

A:Ahhh.

H:You know. So...

A:I do remember

H:Yeah, kind of “doesn’t mean anything.”

A:Yeah.

H:Have you ever heard those types of confusion Japanese words...

A:Hmmm. I did have one mistake recently.  I try to say,”oya-mo-oya na-ra-ko-mo-ko-da-yo.”

H:I see, Like looking at, ah, parents and their kids, you know.  If the parents are like that, obviously the kids are going to be like that, too.

A:Right.

H:Right, OK.

A:However instead I said, “oya-bun-ko-bun-da-yo.”

H:Hahahaha...

A:A totally differnt meaning...

H:Then what's “oyabun” means, yeah?

A:At the time I heard it before but I didn’t really know what it meant.

H:OK.

A:I do know now, and I know what’s the correct...

H:OK.

A:Japanese is hard.

H:Year is.but step by step just like English.

A:Right.

Boo!??? I found it easy the first time I heard this, but after all it’s difficult to listen it deeply.  As usual, the boldfaces are vague, but I have a little bit of  confidence this time!? (^^)  See you next week.
