Ａ： Have you been on any memorable rides before? 乗り物に乗る

Ｈ： I had a present helicopter ride.

Ａ： Wow.

Ｈ： Yes.  About a year ago, it was in Osaka, and I got to see some graves. I’m talking about Kohun. Oh it was amazing to pure scales, 　～に驚く

Ａ： Yeah.

Ｈ： The size. And ”on a helicopter for the first time in my life”, was “an” experience, right?   And yourself? あなたは？（カジュアル）

Ａ： Well, I went on this roller coaster,　こんなジェットコースターに乗ったんだけど

Ｈ： Right?

Ａ： And we just kept going up and up and up and it just kept going up.

Ｈ： OK.

Ａ： We just stopped, and then we fell backwards,

Ｈ： Right.

Ａ： You know It’s like wow this must be the last day of my life. 

Ｈ： Hahaha.

Ａ： I would go on it again, though.　でもまた乗ってみたい

Ｈ： Really, say you liked it.　じゃあ

Ａ： I loved it.

Do you know how much it is?  いくらかわかりますか。Do you know型は疑問詞が後ろ。

It costs 320 yen from here. Take the train for Haneda Airport.　ここから３２０円です。羽田空港行の電車に乗ってください。

Now I can go see the great Buddha. これで大仏を見に行けるわ。go and see の省略形。

So many train lines. Ah, pardon me, I like to go to Korakuen Station. Which line shoud I take?  路線がたくさんあるなぁ。あ、すみません、後楽園駅に行きたいんですけど、何線にのればいいですか？

I heard there’s a super famous Ramen shop there. So excited. そこにスーパー有名なラーメン店があると聞いたんです。とても楽しみ。I’m so excitedの省略形。

Sumo wrestlers. They were so amazing. Yeah they were. お相撲さん、ほんとにすごかったねぇ。ええ本当ね。

But where do we get off at? でもどの駅で降りればいいですか？ Where do we get off?なら、「どこで降りればいいですか。」どちらでもいいですが、電車に乗ることを考えるとハリーの表現が普通ですね。

本日はChit-chat time です。Today the lesson has Chit-Chat time.

Ｈ：So Alisa, uh have you ever got lost very badly?

Ａ：You know what, yes.  

Ｈ： Yeah.

Ａ： So I used to drive in America...

Ｈ： Alright.

Ａ： Yeah, so my friend and I were on a road trip, 　車の旅行

Ｈ： Hmm.

Ａ： We were supposed to go to Utah.

Ｈ： Aha.

Ａ： From Las Vegas.

Ｈ： From Vegas, OK.

Ａ： So I was driving, and the highways are so confusing.

Ｈ： Ah.

Ａ： Yeah, ‘cause the, so many signs, so many changing signs, 

Ｈ： OK.

Ａ： And so I went on the freeway, keep going for about an hour and a half

Ｈ： Aha.

Ａ： I’ve realized I was driving toward a different state.

Ｈ： Hahahaha

Ａ： How about you?

Ｈ： Well, uh it’s about fifteen years ago, going to an audition,  OK?

Ａ： Oh, OK.

Ｈ： And fifteen years ago, we didn’t have smartphones, right?

Ａ： Ah.

Ｈ： So then we have a fax, and I’m trying to get there, just couldn’t find it.

Ａ： Oh.

Ｈ： I’m five minutes late.

Ａ： Oh no.

Ｈ： And ten minutes late. And half an hour late.

Ａ： Ha.

Ｈ： Then I’m an hour late.

Ａ： No.

Ｈ： I get there, my manager are screaming up me down the phone, but somehow I got the job.

Ａ： Really.

Ｈ： Yeah.

Ａ： Oh, congratulations to old Harry さん.

Ｈ： どういうこと？ははは。

Ａ： ははは。

今回は過去の出来事を現在形で表現して”臨場感”を出していましたね。This time they express the past events by using present tense for the “presence.”

勉強になりますね。Good studies, yeah?

It takes about two hours from here to the beach in Chiba. ここから千葉の砂浜まで約２時間はかかるね。

Have fun.　楽しんでね。

You’re going the wrong way.　そっちじゃないですよ。

DIdn’t you say the station was this way? 　駅はこっちって言わなかった？

It’s fine. We’ve got it this time.  大丈夫。今度は完璧（に理解したよ）。口語got it わかった　の現在完了形ですかね。

This has been such a great night.  なんてすばらしい夜なんだ。

OK, then, where to, where to？  わかったよ、どこどこ？

This restaurant is supposed to be somewhere around here.  Are you sure?  Of course I am. このレストランはたしかこっちの方だったよね。自信あるの？もちろん。

 It’s this way, right?  That’s right.  There we go, See out the way. Come on. Follow me.　それはこっちだったよね。　その通りです。　ほらごらん。見ててね。行こう、ついてきな。　See out the way は自信ないです。。。Sorry. でもこうとしか解釈できないんです。どなたかご存じの方はご一報くだされば幸いです。

こん。今日の即レスフレーズは。。。Hello. Today’s SOKURESU phrase was...

There are no drugstores around here. 　There is 構文を用いてある・ないを表す表現です。簡単ですが、結構口に出てこないかも。　This is the phrase with which we express some exist or no exist. This is an easy pthrase, but we may not be able to put it out from our mouth quickly.　

Is there a drugstore nearby? 近くにドラッグストアってある？　こちらが質問のフレーズ。nearbyを使いこなせるようになりたいですね。 This is the question form for the above. I wish we could use “nearby” fluently. don’t we?

Are you going surfing?  サーフィンに行くの？

Skincare is really important, dude! お肌のケアはとっても大事だよ、君！

It’s such a nice day! なんていい日なの！

I think I’ll give up brushing my teeth today.  じゃ今日は歯磨きをやめとこう。

We are here. Thanks for inviting us today.  来たわよ～。今日はお招きいただいてありがとう。　タダーンというフレーズもありますがwe are here は一般的な登場シーンで使われますよね。 Though we have the phrase ta-da, “we are here” is used in a more general situation like this, right?

Wasn’t there a convenience store on our way here? ここに来るまでにコンビニなかったっけ？　否定疑問文は聞き取り難しいですね。　Isn’t negative question form difficult to listen to for Japanese?　

Okey, go, Harry!  オーケーゴーハリー。　ハリーが名前と知らないと、何言った？となる。ＯＫはくだけた表現でokeyオーキーと表現するようですね。　If we don’t know the person’s name Harry, we at last wonder around saying, “What did she say?”　OK changes into okey in a situation like this frankly.

今日はちょいちょい聞き取りにくい表現がありました。おさらいしてみましょう。Today  we sometimes have some difficult points to listen to.  Let’s review!

黒い太文字は分かりくかった発音と表現です。

We’ll miss all the good waves. いい波のがしちゃうぜ。　

The map isn’t loading.　地図が読み込まないんだ。

Let’s just ask someone.　誰かに聞いた方がいいよ。

It’s about a ten-minute bus/ train ride.　バス/電車で１０分くらいです。

Oh, no. Going to be late.　オーノー。送れちゃう。I'mやIt’s はこのようにしばしば省略されるようです。

A ten-minute walk? Then I rum, and I will be there in three minutes.　歩いて１０分？じゃぁ走れば３分で着くね。if節のかわりにthen... and～の表現を使っていましたね。

So this is the bus to Hirosaki castle.　これが弘前城行きのバスね。

Thanks. I can’t wait to see it.　ありがとう。見るの楽しみ。canは強くキャーンと発音しだすと大体can’tなんですよね。

Hey, why don’t we go to Nanba next?　ねえ。次は難波へ行こうよ。難波は大阪の中心地。知らないとわかりません。

Ah! Great. Lovely so now, which way is it to the station? へー最高。いいねぇ、じゃぁ駅へはどっちへ行ったらいいの？　so now はじゃぁですかね。

It’s a ten-minute drive from here.　車で１０分です。car ride とはあまり言わないって言ってましたね。

I actually managed to nearly sink myself into quick sand. Security guard helped me out of it.　実はもうちょっとで流砂にまかれるところだったんだ。警備員さんが助け出してくれたんだ。
